To make way for the new Star Wars Land that we talked about yesterday, a popular Walt Disney World holiday tradition is enjoying its last and final year: The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Disney announced today that The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights will be ending after a 20 year run on January 3, 2016. In order to make room for the new Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land expansions, this popular holiday tradition must end. There are no plans to relocate this spectacular display, much to the disappointment of fans. As a nod to an “almost” Wordless Wednesday, I dug up an old picture of my sons signing Mickey’s Birthday card. The theme this week is November Calendar and this is a date we never forget in our house. My middle son joined our family through adoption. We celebrate his “Gotcha Day” on November 18th, the day we “got” him. No presents. No huge fanfare. We just let him choose a family activity to celebrate. Surprise! When I first heard about The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios I thought, “Ehh, Christmas lights on the buildings. How spectacular is that?” Ignoring the advice of the experts, we arrived late, on an incredibly crowded night and attempted to experience the phenomenom. It was, in a word, SPECTACULAR!
