A top question is “What if I only have 3 days at Disney?”
Some can afford a solid 2 week vacation at Walt Disney World. (Oh, how I wish!) Some can only afford a whirlwind trip. Whatever the situation, with 4 theme parks, waterparks and a myriad of other attractions, there is a formula to determine which parks to visit.
If you only have 1 day…
Magic Kingdom, all the way.
It’s the park that started it all. Magic Kingdom has charm, nostalgia and something for everyone. There are rides for teens and toddlers. There are shows so you can rest your feet and get out of the heat. And what better place for a family photo with everyone wearing their Mickey ears in front of the castle.
If you only have 2 days…..
EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.
With a mixture of entertainment and education, EPCOT is an environment where learning and exploring are fun. Travel back in time. Soar over the Grand Canyon. Immerse yourself in other cultures. It is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.
If you only have 3 days…
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the perfect place to celebrate the wonderful world of motion pictures. Jump into an old classic episode from the Twilight Zone. Play an arcade game with Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang. Fasten your seatbelt and storm through the galaxy. There are so many ways to jump into your favorite films.
If you only have 4 days…
Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.
Contrary to popular belief, Animal Kingdom is not a glorified zoo. I know some may disagree with me, but if I’m going to view wild animals, I’d much rather see them at Walt Disney World. They can all be viewed in a natural setting (instead of cages or behind bars), either by safari or behind plexiglass. We once considered this a half-day park but as our children have gotten older we have a whole new appreciation for this park. Aside from some of the most unique family-friendly attractions (Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest) there are some amazing ways to observe and interact with animals: Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Conservation Station, Maharajah Jungle Trek, and Flights of Wonder. You can catch a show (our favorite is Festival of the Lion King) or simply relax and stroll through some of the most visually stunning surroundings.
If you have 7 days…
- Magic Kingdom = 2 days
- EPCOT = 2 days
- Disney Hollywood Studios = 1 day
- Animal Kingdom = 1 day
- Pool day, Downtown Disney, water park or other recreation = 1 day
If you have more than 7 days…
..lucky you! This is the way to truly experience Walt Disney World if you have the time and the money. My ultimate Disney trip would be:
- Magic Kingdom = 3 days
- EPCOT = 3 days
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios = 2 days
- Animal Kingdom = 2 days
- Typhoon Lagoon = 1 day
- Blizzard Beach = 1 day
- relax by the resort pool = 1 day
- Downtown Disney = 1 day
- fishing excursion/horseback riding/golf = 2 days
For a grand total of 16 days at Disney!
I’d better start saving!
What’s your ultimate trip?
