What Is FastPass+?
FastPass+ allows you to legally “cut” the line, considerably cutting your wait time for an attraction. It allows you to by-pass the stand-by line, maximizing your time in the parks.
Currently, you are limited to three FastPass+ selections in one park per day.
How much does it cost?
FastPass+ is free to all Disney guests. There is no extra cost.
When can I make my FastPass selections?
- Disney Resort Guests can make their selections up to 60 days in advance of their visit.
- Off-site guests can make selections up to 30 days before their visit.
- All guests can keep track of their FastPass+ selections on their smartphone or tablet.
As you are making your plans, make sure you consult a refurbishment calendar to check and see if your favorite attraction will be open.
What kinds of things can I FastPass?
FastPass isn’t limited to rides. You can also get preferred seating for fireworks, evening light shows, and parade viewing. There are also FastPasses for character meet and greets. This expanded list can complicate things.
You know your family best. If getting autographs and one-on-one time with characters is paramount? Make sure a character meet and greet is one of your selections. Want to sit and enjoy a “best seat in the house” for a parade or nighttime fireworks? Choose special seating.
For the attractions? Well, some picks are definitely better than others!
Magic Kingdom
Best
- The 3 Mountains: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Splash Mountain
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Dumbo The Flying Elephant
- Jungle Cruise
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Haunted Mansion
Not So Much
- It’s A Small World – this line tends to move quickly
- Mickey’s Philharmagic – This line only seems long because seating is done for each show.
- Pirates of the Caribbean – In the hot Florida sun, if this line is long, it’s a welcome relief from the heat. Also, it tends to move quickly.
Other attractions, like Peter Pan’s Flight, Tomorrowland Speedway and Mad Tea Party, are up for grabs. Yes, their queues tend to be long – at certain times of the day. If they are a must-do for your family, by all means, grab FastPasses. Otherwise, try to schedule them first thing and save your FastPasses for other attractions.
EPCOT
Best
- Soarin’
- Test Track
- Mission Space
- Frozen Ever After
Not So Much
- The Seas With Nemo and Friends
- Living With The Land
- Journey Into Imagination With Figment
- Spaceship Earth – save this attraction for later in the day. The lines tend to be long merely because it’s the first attraction people see as they enter the park. (Currently scheduled for refurbishment.)
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Best
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Toy Story Mania
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
- Tower Of Terror
- Alien Swirling Saucers
Not So Much
- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (but only because you can’t. This attraction is currently not offering FastPasses.)
- Star Tours
- Just about everything else. The rest of the attractions on the FastPass list for this park handle crowds very well. They are large venues that accommodate lots of people. The lines are long because of show time constraints. Time it right and you’ll get a great seat with minimal wait.
Animal Kingdom
Best
- Flight of Passage
- Kali River Rapids (I recommend a later in the day return time for this attraction as you WILL get wet)
- Expedition Everest
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – I almost didn’t put this on the “best” list because if you head for this attraction first thing in the morning there is little to no wait. Later in the day, the animals aren’t as active. But if you must…
Not So Much
- Dinosaur
- Primeval Whirl
- It’s Tough To Be A Bug

My best advice is to keep in mind the personalities in your group. Tailor it to your party’s interests. And have a magical time!
