There was a period of time, when the kids were small, that we never saw the parks in the dark. A good night’s sleep was critical for our middle son, and no one wanted to upset his routine, afraid of the repercussions the next day.
No one.
Fast forward a few years later and we re-discovered the joys of Disney in the Dark.
Magic Kingdom After Dark
- There is nothing like entering the Haunted Mansion while it is dark and eerie outside.
- Or, as you round the corner on Splash Mountain, catching a glimpse of the castle all lit up.
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are all enhanced at night.
- And don’t forget the evening fireworks!
EPCOT After Dark
- The evening light show around Showcase Lagoon (currently EPCOT Forever) is a must-do for our family!
- Test Track takes it to a whole new level of excitement as you scream through the track in the dark.
Hollywood Studios After Dark
- Tower of Terror. Need I say more?
- Slinky Dog Dash is extra thrilling in the dark.
- See Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a whole new experience at night.
Animal Kingdom After Dark
- Expedition Everest is newly thrilling.
- Rivers of Light is a beautiful nighttime show on Discovery River Lagoon. Relaxing and gorgeous.
- As evening sets in, the animals are more active on Kilimanjaro Safari.
Whether you are trying to cram in a full day or you’re capitalizing on a second wind after a mid-day rest at your resort, visiting Walt Disney World theme parks at night is a must-do!
