Fueled and ready to go! That’s the best way to start any day. But at Walt Disney World, there are just as many choices for breakfast as there are FastPass options. What’s the right choice for you?
At The Resort Room
I’m the type of person who must eat right when I get up in the morning. For every trip, we pack energy bars, a pack of bagels, peanut butter, cheese and crackers, and juice boxes. If we drive, we also bring a case of bottled water and yogurt. If we fly, we order from a grocery delivery service, like Garden Grocer.
Just about every morning, we eat breakfast in our room, between turns for the sink and changing area and we’re ready to go! And don’t forget to pack spoons and napkins.
- granola or protein bars
- juice boxes
- bagels (bread is too delicate)
- peanut butter
- cheese & crackers
- bunch of bananas
- apples
- yogurt
- spoons/paper towels
On The Fly
My husband and adult daughter can’t function without coffee. While the boys and I are getting ready or eating our quick bite in the room, they go in search of coffee. Every Walt Disney World resort has a quick-service meal area where you can pick up light items to eat on the go. Oh. And coffee!
At The Resorts
This is a fantastic way to enjoy a luxurious breakfast during your vacation. I love to plan a sit-down breakfast experience in the middle of our trip, on a day that we are not planning on visiting a park first thing in the morning. If you choose a dining spot that also has characters, you get a two-for-one: characters visit YOU while you dine! The best “on resort” breakfast dining locations are:
- Cape May Café – (character meal) Beach Club
- Chef Mickey’s – (character meal) Contemporary Resort
- Trail’s End Restaurant – Fort Wilderness
- Sanaa – Animal Kingdom Lodge
- 1900 Park Fare – (character meal) Grand Floridian
- Kona Café – Polynesian (our personal favorite!)
- Whispering Canyon Café – Wilderness Lodge
At The Parks
At the parks is a favorite way for many to experience Walt Disney World. And for breakfast, almost all of them are character meals where the characters come to you! No waiting in line. There are two best ways to enjoy breakfast at one of the parks.
- Make your reservation one of the earliest available so you can enter a nearly empty park before anyone else. (Perfect time for pictures!)
- Make your reservation one of the latest available, more like a brunch, so that you can enjoy the attractions first thing in the morning when lines are shorter.
Some of the best “in the park” breakfasts are:
- Akershus – (character meal) EPCOT
- Be Our Guest – Magic Kingdom
- Cinderella’s Royal Table – (character meal) Magic Kingdom
- Crystal Palace – (character meal) Magic Kingdom
- The Garden Grill (character meal) EPCOT
- Hollywood & Vine (character meal) Hollywood Studios
- Tusker House – (character meal) Animal Kingdom
