Finding the Characters

Have The Right Equipment

Bring a pen. A very large pen (or Sharpie.) It’s easier for the characters to grip.
Autograph books are great. But unconventional items are a fun alternative. A backpack. A cap or shirt. Or a photo mat that eventually showcases one of the character pictures you took.

Strategize

If your child is a bit shy, have them meet a character with a “real” face, first. Aladdin. Snow White. Fairy Godmother. If all goes well, the other characters, with their more elaborate costuming, won’t seem so intimidating.
Check the Times Guide (you can pick one up as you enter the park) for the locations of the day.
Be considerate of the guests waiting behind you. Have your camera ready and your pen and autograph book open. Ask a question to get the conversation started and then be on your way.
