You’ve paid a lot of money for your ticket. It’s a short amount of time to cram everything in. You want to get the most out of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a hard ticket event held through mid August until October 31st. Typically the first day of the party and the last few days (especially Halloween night!) sell out. In between, the closer you get to Halloween night, the more expensive the tickets become. We love to attend in September when usual crowd levels are lower, it’s starting to feel like fall (-ish) and ticket prices are at their lowest.
But how to get the most out of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
#1 – Arrive Early
Official party hours are 7pm-12am. But with your Halloween party ticket you will be allowed into Magic Kingdom, and on all of the attractions, as early as 4pm. Just look for the specially marked tapstile usually located to the far right or far left. Tap your ticket or MagicBand, scan your finger and you’re good to go!
#2 – Join In On The FunĀ
Kids can dress up, of course. But this is an opportunity to join in on the fun – when Disney encourages audience participation! There are some strict rules, however. Click here to get the latest official Disney guidelines. And keep in mind, Florida is hot. Almost year round. You can guarantee August and September will be steamy – and that kind of weather can seep into October, as well. Leave the fully encased bear suit at home and opt for a costume that will allow you some breathing room.
#3 – Expect Surprises
Last year, Disney began jazzing up a few of the attractions to make them more Halloween-like. These special effects are only available during the party. So, if you’re a seasoned park-goer, keep your eyes peeled and see what surprises are in store.
#4 – Prepare to Take in the Treats
From special cupcakes and candy apples to one of a kind popcorn buckets and light-up toys – there is sure to be something to catch your eye. And Don’t forget about the free candy located at the several trick-or-treat stations around the park.
#5 – Enjoy the Shows
I’m not a huge “stop and watch the shows” kind of person. But my daughter is a HUGE Hocus Pocus fan. One year she begged to stop and watch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. So, we did. And I wasn’t sorry. What a fun way to usher in the Halloween season – we never miss it now. And look for the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet – spooky fun. And the evening fireworks/laser show display is NOT to be missed – Not So Spooky Spectacular. Check the Times Guide at the front of the park for showtimes.
#6 – One of a Kind Shopping Experience
Special t-shirts, sweatshirts, trading pins, MagicBands and more are for sale only during the party. Check out the Emporium, Frontier Trading Post and Big Top Souvenirs for some great loot!
#7 – Don’t Skip the Parade
I’m not a big “show” person and I’m not a bit “parade” person but the Boo To You Halloween Parade is a MUST DO! It is kept pretty tame so as not to scare younger guests but beware the Headless Horseman!
