With so many dining choices at Walt Disney World how in the world do you decide where to eat? Everyone has their personal favorites, and I’m no exception. Here’s a run-down of our family’s go-to eateries by park! Bon Appetit!
Magic Kingdom
Our sit-down favorites:
Very Popular (No, it’s not just us! Everyone seems to like it here!) –
Be Our Guest – Food quality for lunch and dinner is very good here. Dinner especially (breakfast? Not so much) But reservations go quickly. If you aren’t able to find a reservation for your trip it can’t hurt to keep trying. I actually found one a few weeks before one of our trips because people cancel all the time. Persistence pays off!
Cinderella’s Royal Table – May not appeal to the boys in your party, but a fun and relaxing dining venue inside Cinderella’s castle. It IS a character meal with Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, etc.
Not as difficult to snag a reservation but still very good —
Liberty Tree Tavern – Comfort food fare. This is one of our kids’ favorite. Very picky eater friendly restaurant.
Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen – Decor and sense of humor of the hosts and waitstaff are similar to the Jungle Cruise. Cuisine is for the more adventurous (Latin/Asian/African choices) but still very yummy. It’s the newest sit-down dining venue at Magic Kingdom. My daughter and I tried it last trip and loved it.
Our Favorite Counter Service:
Columbia Harbour House – Chicken and seafood. Some good, healthy choices.
Tortuga Tavern – Burritos and a fabulous toppings bar.
EPCOT
Dining at EPCOT you can almost never go wrong……..
Our sit-down favorites–
Germany’s Biergarten – Buffet style dining. Lunch is a more affordable option and offers almost identical dining selections.
France’s Chefs de France – Dining here has been hit or miss for us but my daughter and I had a fabulous meal here last week.
Garden Grill – Typical American fare served family style. This is a character meal (Chip n’ Dale, Pluto, Mickey) but we love the quality of food here. Much of the produce is farm-to-table, grown just outside the door on Disney property.
Counter Service Options:
You can’t go wrong with the counter service options around World Showcase. It’s a great way to sample a country’s cuisine. Some countries (Italy, for example) do not have a counter service option. Our favorites are located in: Japan, Morocco, France, China and Norway. My boys love the fish ‘n’ chips in United Kingdom.
Hollywood Studios
Our sit-down favorites–
50’s Prime Time Cafe – An interactive restaurant with a 1950’s decor and menu. So much fun, anyone with a sense of humor will get a kick out of it.
Sci-Fi Diner – Typical American food but with a drive-in theater theme. Very unique and a fun, cool, relaxing way to escape the crowds.
Hollywood Brown Derby – Very pricey but excellent quality. We only eat here if we have plenty of time to relax.
Counter Service Options:
Pizza Planet is our kid’s favorite. ABC Commissary is my favorite (I love the salads here: quinoa arugula w/grilled salmon is my go-to.)
Animal Kingdom
Sit-down dining options:
Tusker House – I love the food here. African cuisine with lots of very tasty vegetarian options. This is another place that my picky eater even enjoys. Another character meal with Donald Duck and friends.
Yak & Yeti – Southeast Asian cuisine. Everyone in our family LOVES this place. Even my youngest, who isn’t particularly fond of Asian cuisine.
Counter Service:
Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari are our favorites. Yak & Yeti also has a counter service option that we do if we weren’t able to get sit-down dining reservations.
