Pinterest is a great resource for all kinds of information. Especially when you’re overwhelmed with planning your next trip to Walt Disney World. But Pinterest is also full of misinformation, as well.
Even I have been known to post outdated info! (Thank you, Kenny The Pirate, for pointing out my error!)
There is a person following my Pinterest page (and I’m following her back) who is obviously planning a trip to Walt Disney World. She’s been pinning some pretty neat pins. And I’ve been checking them out, too. ‘Cause that’s what I do. I can’t help it. It’s my kryptonite.
But some of the pins are outdated. And inaccurate. And I want to shout, “Stop! FastPass has a whole new system now!” and “Mickey is no longer in Toontown!” and “There IS a princess character meal in EPCOT!”
But I can’t. All you can do in Pinterest, is pin. No messages. Or blog posts. Or shout outs.
So, I’m shouting here.
There is plenty of misinformation out there. Even the best fans can’t keep up with all of the changes. But, you can find some fantastic, reliable sites. And I’m about to share some of my favorites.
Warm up those fingers. Crack those knuckles and get ready to click away!
Intercot – Now, I know Kenny the Pirate pointed out recently that their character meal list in their information section needs to be updated. That is one of my complaints about the site. But the message boards can’t be beat. I get lots of information from fans who are currently at Disney World or have, at least, visited very recently. They are some of the nicest, kindest, most knowledgeable and helpful fans out there. I’ve been a member for 10 years and it is, by far, my favorite message board.
WDW Magic – A fantastic site if you’re looking for up-to-date information about all the new happenings. If I hear a rumor, I check out WDW Magic to see what they have to say.
All Ears.net – I use this site for some of the best reviews on resorts, restaurants and activities at Walt Disney World. You can also find accurate, current pictures of resort rooms and accommodations. They also cover Disneyland and the Disney Cruise line.
Undercover Tourist – I’ve never tried purchasing tickets here (they claim to have discounted tickets) but I find their crowd prediction calendars to be the most accurate. I’ve actually compared different calendars on my trips, so I can find the best one. No crowd prediction calendar is perfect. But Undercover Tourist tends to be the closest to what I actually experience during my vacation.
Kenny the Pirate – I can’t end this post without mentioning my newest favorite fan blog. Here’s my shout out to Kenny the Pirate. So much information from a true Disney fan. You’ll find information specific maps (character locations, transportation, etc.), current park hours, menus and resort info. And much, much more!
Do you have a favorite? Please share! I’m always looking for great Disney information!
My favorite is the DIS, and the DIS boards message boards. I get all my info from that site or allears, undercovertourist or the actual Disney website. And of course your website 🙂
I like message boards because you get feedback and opinions from many different people..
You should check out Intercot. The people there are great!
